Bauchi Govt approves N396m for 14,170 students’ exam fees

Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, has agreed to give money amounting to N396,963,000 to pay for the exams of students in 2024.

This includes exams like NECO, WAEC, NBAIS, and JAMB. The money will help 14,170 students in SS3 in public schools across the state for the 2023/2024 school year.

The Ministry of Education said this is a good thing for education in the state. They said the Governor is really helping education grow in the state.

This shows that the Governor really wants education to be good and wants to make things easier for students and parents, especially during hard times.

Before, sometimes the government paid for exams late or had to borrow money. But now, Governor Bala Mohammed is making sure the money is ready upfront.

Also, the Governor is paying off debts from previous governments, around N800 million, for exam payments since 2020. This shows he wants to keep supporting education.

The government will pay for NECO, WAEC, and NBAIS exams for all indexed students who passed a test by the Ministry of Education on February 1st, 2024. This is to make sure students are ready for their exams and to make education better in the state.

The Governor is also paying for JAMB exams for 1,542 students who did really well in the test, getting an A grade.

This is to encourage other students to do well too and to show that the government cares about good education.

The number of students getting help and the money for exams has gone up a lot. From 2021/2022 to 2022/2023, it went up about 59.98%, and from 2022/2023 to now, it went up about 26.58%. This shows the Governor really wants all students in Bauchi State to have good education.

The Ministry of Education and others thank the Governor for helping education and supporting students in Bauchi State.

They say the Governor’s help and support give hope and make the future better for young people in the state.
