Bauchi Governor cautions those who act as informants for criminals

—

The Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, issued a stern warning to individuals within the state who are involved in supplying vital information to terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal elements.

The governor emphasized the gravity of the situation, urging citizens to refrain from engaging in activities that support or aid criminal organizations.

He underscored the importance of community collaboration in maintaining security and encouraged residents to actively participate in efforts to combat crime.

Governor Bala Mohammed emphasized the collective responsibility of the community in fostering a safe and secure environment, urging everyone to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities promptly.

He commended the state’s security agencies for their efforts in ensuring the safety of Bauchi citizens.

The governor emphasized the need for stakeholder involvement and adherence to engagement rules in the fight against insecurity.

Addressing the issue at the Government House during a meeting with the State Commissioner of Police and other security heads, Governor Bala Mohammed urged traditional rulers, religious leaders, security agencies, and relevant stakeholders to unite against criminal activities, recognizing the vital role of peace in society.

Governor Mohammed highlighted the dire consequences of a society without peace, describing it as “brutish, barbaric, short, dull, and nasty.”

He stressed the crucial role of peace in societal progress, stating that without it, neither nations nor individuals can advance.

The governor pledged that those involved in criminal acts would face legal consequences in accordance with the country’s laws, ensuring that they would not go unpunished in Bauchi State.

He also urged parents to prioritize their children’s safety and vigilance in their neighborhoods.

Governor Bala Mohammed assured that his administration, despite limited resources, would collaborate with other government arms to promote human and capital development, secure the state against criminal elements, attract investment, and boost economic activities.

Earlier in the meeting, Commissioner of Police Auwal Mohammed provided detailed information about criminals apprehended in the past week, emphasizing their involvement in various criminal activities.
