Bassey and Iwobi inspire Fulham to an emphatic victory at Old Trafford

Nigerian duo, Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi played crucial roles in Fulham’s victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford. This marked their second appearance for Fulham since returning from the AFCON, where they represented Nigeria.

The first half was tightly contested, with both teams sharing possession equally and registering eight attempts on goal each.

In the second half, the score remained level until Calvin Bassey scored a superb goal for Fulham in the 65th minute. However, Harry Maguire equalized for Manchester United just before full-time. Alex Iwobi, who was named man of the match, secured the win for Fulham in added time.

Fulham’s victory ended Manchester United’s unbeaten streak in the Premier League and also halted their own 18-game winless run at Old Trafford since 2003.

As a result of the defeat, Manchester United dropped to 6th place in the Premier League table, while Fulham climbed to 12th place with 32 points.
