Barcelona Vice-Captain Ronald Araujo Renews Contract Until 2031

Barcelona vice-captain Ronald Araujo has put pen to paper, renewing his contract with the club until 2031.

According to the Spanish side: “FC Barcelona and Ronald Araujo have reached an agreement on an extension to the player’s contract, tying him to the club through to 30 June 2031.”

According to the club, the center-back signed his new deal this Thursday at an event where he was joined by club president Joan Laporta, first vice-president Rafa Yuste, and director of sport Anderson Luis de Souza “Deco.”

Having joined Barcelona from Boston River in 2018, starting with Barça B at 18, Ronald proved his worth and gained a full promotion to the senior team in the 2020/21 season. He is currently regarded as one of the best center-backs in the world.

He has amassed 154 appearances for the first team, scoring eight goals and providing six assists—an excellent record for a defender. His titles include a La Liga and a Copa del Rey.
