In Damari, Sabuwa LGA of Katsina State, there was a terrible incident recently. Some bandits kidnapped women who were going with a bride to her new home. This happened last Thursday.
They even made a video showing the women they kidnapped. The bandits said they would marry one of the women if their family didn’t give them 100 million Naira. They also threatened to sell the other people they kidnapped.
When the wedding group was going to Sabuwa, the bandits attacked them. They killed four people from a group who were protecting the wedding group.
They took away 55 people from the wedding, including children. It was a scary situation for everyone there.
In the video the bandits made, one of their leaders was wearing a police uniform. He said they wouldn’t let the people go until they got the money they wanted.
The bride was also in the video, wearing a soldier’s uniform. It was a very frightening situation for everyone involved.
The families of the kidnapped people were very worried. They couldn’t afford to pay such a big amount of money.
One family member said they didn’t have that much money at all. The bandits made the video to challenge the governor of the state. They wanted to show that they were serious about what they were doing.
The families of the kidnapped people were very upset. One family had eight sisters and nine daughters taken by the bandits. Another family had a wife, six children, and 13 other relatives kidnapped.
This kind of bad thing has been happening more often in Katsina State lately. Even though it seemed like things were getting better before, now they are getting worse again.
In another incident around the same time, some bad people attacked a place called Tashar Nadaya.
They killed someone and stole their motorcycle. They also attacked four other people and took their motorcycles.
Earlier, some other bandits kidnapped 30 people from a village called Tasharnagulle. Thankfully, the military rescued them and gave them back to the governor of Katsina State.
The government is trying to help. They are talking to the police and other security people to find a way to rescue the kidnapped people. But it’s not easy, and it will take time.
When reporters asked the police in Katsina about what they were doing, they promised to answer, but they didn’t give any information yet.
