In a recent video shared by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert in lake chad region, a group of bandits displayed their proficiency in operating a drone.
The video showed at least five bandits sitting on the ground, clearly fascinated by the drone in action.
One of the bandits was seen skillfully maneuvering the drone while the others observed its flight, laughing and excited.
As the drone operator navigated the device through the air, one of the bandits could be heard remarking,
“There is something that holds it (the drone) there in the air.” This comment highlighted their amazement at the drone’s technology.
The group then spoke together, their voices revealing a strong sense of conviction and satisfaction with the drone’s performance.
The video quickly garnered attention on X, formerly known as Twitter, eliciting a variety of reactions from users.
Many expressed concerns about the growing insecurity in the country, given that bandits now have access to and are proficient with advanced technology like drones.
This development has raised alarms about the potential implications for security and the challenges it poses to counter-insurgency efforts.
