Bandits kidnap 12, raze hospital, police station, and vehicles in Katsina

In a recent incident on Monday, terrorists attacked Wurma, a village in Katsina State, Nigeria.

They kidnapped 12 people and set fire to health care center. Residents also reported that the attackers burned down a police outpost, several houses, and vehicles.

This type of violence, including arson and abduction, has become common in the North-west region, where motorcycle-riding terrorists are active.

According to a community leader who preferred to remain anonymous, similar attacks have occurred in neighboring villages like Lambo.

The terrorists typically arrive in the evening, firing their weapons indiscriminately and causing panic among the residents.

Despite efforts by the local police, they were unable to confront the well-armed attackers effectively.

The community leader mentioned that among the abducted individuals, most are women and children.

Fortunately, there were no reported fatalities during this particular attack. However, in recent days, several communities in Katsina State have suffered from similar acts of terrorism, resulting in deaths and further abductions.

Some of the other villages targeted by terrorists recently include Yan Gayya, Barkiya, Rawayau, and Kukar Babangida.

Unfortunately, the police spokesperson for the state, Abubakar-Sadik Aliyu, could not be reached for comment on this latest attack.
