Bandits in Zamfara set 2 military vehicles ablaze, kill CPG operatives

—

In a recent incident in Tsafe town, Zamfara state, a group of stubborn bandits brought trouble and fear to the community.

The town, where the government of Tsafe local government council operates, faced a violent attack by these bandits, resulting in significant damage and loss.

According to eyewitness accounts, the bandits, arriving on motorcycles around 11:00 pm on Sunday, divided into three groups.

One group targeted the Zamfara state College of Health Science and Technology, while the other two groups entered the town, firing guns indiscriminately.

The purpose of the attack seemed to be to create fear among the residents and possibly kidnap people, including students from the college.

Sadly, the violence led to the tragic loss of two Community Protection Guards (CPG) who bravely stood against the bandits.

During the chaos, the bandits also set fire to two vehicles belonging to the military and the Zamfara CPG.

However, thanks to the swift response of a joint task force comprising the military, police, and CPG, the bandits were confronted and forced to retreat to the forest.

This recent incident is not an isolated one in Tsafe town. Just last February, armed bandits attacked worshippers in a mosque during morning prayers, resulting in the kidnapping of 40 individuals.

The recurring attacks by these bandits highlight the ongoing security challenges faced by the residents of Tsafe town and the need for continued efforts to ensure the safety and security of the community.
