Bandits Attack Kebbi Girls’ School, Kill VP, Abduct Students

A wave of fear has struck the Zuru Emirate in Kebbi State after bandits carried out a deadly night attack on Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS) Maga in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area.

During the raid, the school’s Vice Principal, Malam Hassan Yakubu Makuku, was killed, and several students were abducted.

The exact number of kidnapped students is still unknown.

Murjanatu Hassan Gishiri, a local resident, confirmed the incident, saying the bandits attacked the school at night without facing any resistance, causing panic among students and staff. She described the attack as “a heartbreaking tragedy that has filled the community with fear and sorrow.”

Malam Hassan Yakubu Makuku reportedly died while trying to protect the students. Community members have since prayed for his soul, asking Allah to grant him mercy, a peaceful resting place, and to comfort his family and loved ones.

Security agencies have yet to release an official statement.

Residents are urging the government to act quickly to rescue the kidnapped students and improve security in schools and communities prone to bandit attacks.
