The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) governorship candidate in Bauchi State and Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Shehu Buba Umar, has voluntarily submitted himself to security agencies for investigation over allegations linking him to banditry, terrorism financing, kidnapping and other criminal activities.
Shehu Buba made this known at a press conference in Bauchi on Monday, saying he decided to submit himself to the Department of State Services (DSS), Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) and Nigeria Police Force to enable them independently investigate the allegations and clear his name.

The senator described the allegations as a recurring campaign against him, noting that similar accusations were made in 2014.
According to him, the earlier allegations were investigated and found to be baseless, but similar claims have resurfaced years later in different forms.
Shehu Buba said the latest allegations had become too serious to be left to social media speculation, prompting him to approach the relevant security agencies for a thorough investigation.
He expressed confidence that the investigations would establish the truth and clear his name.
