Balami Plans to Move 70% of “Obidient” Structure to APC Ahead of 2027

A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Isaac Balami, has revealed plans to collapse over 70 per cent of the “Obidient” political structure into the ruling party as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Balami, who previously served as Deputy Campaign Manager for the Obi/Datti presidential ticket under the Labour Party, said the decision was based on his conviction in the leadership direction of the party and the administration of Bola Tinubu.
In a statement he personally signed on Sunday, the APC chieftain also congratulated the party’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, on his re-election at the party’s national convention, describing it as a sign of unity and internal stability.
He explained that the planned integration of the Obidient structure is aimed at consolidating youth support and strengthening grassroots mobilisation across the country, particularly in Northern Nigeria.
According to him, the move forms part of a broader political realignment designed to boost the APC’s electoral chances ahead of 2027.
Balami further urged members of the Obidient movement who are hesitant about joining the APC to take what he described as a “bold and realistic step,” stressing that political success depends on strong structures and strategic positioning.
He expressed confidence that the inclusion of youth-driven political networks into the APC would enhance the party’s strength and position it for a decisive victory in the next election cycle.
