Ayra Starr Makes History, Defeats Cardi B and Tyla at MOBOs

Nigerian music star, Ayra Starr has etched her name in global music history, clinching a landmark victory at the MOBO Awards.

At the glittering 30th anniversary ceremony held March 26 at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena, the Afropop sensation was crowned Best International Act for the second consecutive year a rare feat that cements her dominance on the world stage.

With the back-to-back win, Ayra Starr becomes the first African artist in 16 years to achieve the historic double in the fiercely contested category, bringing her total MOBO haul to three.

She triumphed over a star-studded global lineup featuring Cardi B, Tyla, Gunna, and Vybz Kartel, standing out as the sole Nigerian nominee in the international category.

The “Rush” hitmaker announced the milestone on Instagram on March 27, sparking celebrations across her global fanbase.
