Ayra Starr Begins 2026 Era With “Where Do We Go” Single

Nigerian Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr has announced a new single titled Where Do We Go.

On Tuesday, February 24, the singer shared a short video preview of the song on her verified Instagram page. The clip featured Ayra Starr in a monochromatic purple setting with an industrial backdrop.

The preview opened with the words “Yep, play” before transitioning into a rhythmic Afrobeats sound. According to close sources, the track is a more deliberate and mature direction in her music.

“Where Do We Go” is expected to serve as the lead single from her third studio album, which she has confirmed is complete and scheduled for release later in 2026. The announcement has generated strong engagement across social media platforms, with fans anticipating the full release.

The new single follows a record-setting period in the singer’s career. In October 2025, she released Who’s That Girl featuring Rema. The music video, directed by Meji Alabi, recorded 1.5 million views within 12 hours of release and reached 3 million views within 24 hours, making her the first African female artist to achieve that figure in a single day on YouTube.

Her 2025 album, The Year I Turned 21, also surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, establishing her as the first Nigerian female artist to reach that milestone on the platform.

Over the years, female artistes have performed well on YouTube: In 2019, Yemi Alade became one of the first African women to reach one million views within 24 hours with a remix release. In 2022, Tiwa Savage also exceeded one million views within a day of releasing a single.

“Where Do We Go” will be Ayra Starr’s first official release of her 2026 cycle.
