Fresh controversy has emerged following comments by social media commentator Prince Ayo Fayose, who questioned why security agencies have not invited the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over remarks he allegedly made about Oyo State.
The News Chronicle reports that Fayose, in a video shared on Facebook, drew attention to Wike’s earlier political comments about Oyo State and linked them to recent unrest in the state.
The commentator argued that the sequence of events has raised concerns that deserve scrutiny, urging the Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate all relevant individuals connected to the matter.
In the video, Fayose cited Wike’s earlier statement about “putting fire” in Oyo State and asked whether the minister should be invited for questioning in light of the latest developments. He also suggested that former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose and other political figures be examined if necessary to establish the facts surrounding the controversy.
His remarks have since sparked debate across social media, with supporters and critics expressing differing views on whether the comments were political rhetoric or warranted official attention.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the DSS nor Wike had publicly responded to the claims made in the viral video.
