The Spanish team Atlético Madrid has announced the signing of English midfielder Conor Gallagher after reaching an agreement with Chelsea. Gallagher has signed a five-year contract with the club.
Atlético also confirmed that Conor Gallagher successfully passed his medical test ahead of the deal:
“The midfielder underwent and passed the relevant medical examination at the Centro de Medicina Deportiva de Alto Rendimiento Vithas – Invictum at the Hospital Universitario Madrid Arturo Soria.”
Despite graduating from Chelsea’s academy, Conor played several of his campaigns on loan at Charlton Athletic, Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion, and Crystal Palace before making his first-team debut for Chelsea in August 2022. He has since made 95 appearances for the London club, scoring 10 goals and providing 10 assists.
The midfielder made his senior England debut in November 2021 and was called up for the 2022 World Cup and this year’s European Championship, where he reached the final with his country.
To date, the 24-year-old has made 18 appearances for the England senior national team.
