Atlético de Madrid captain, Koke, reduces wage to remain in the club

Koke, the Atlético de Madrid captain, has agreed to reduce his salary to remain in the club. The Spanish put pen to papers extending his contract until June 2025 with the club.

“Jorge Resurrección, Koke, will continue defending the colors of Atlético de Madrid next season. Our captain, who finished his contract on June 30, has reached an agreement with the club that contemplates an annual renewal at the end of each season.”

Being the player with the most appearances in the club’s history with a total of 626 appearances, Koke came to the club at the age of 6- since then, has gone through stages until he became an undisputed Legend of our club.

Known as one of the most successful players, he has won up to eight titles in his fifteen years that, to date, he has defended the colors of the club shirt: two leagues, one Copa del Rey, two Europa Leagues, two European Super Cups and one Spanish Super Cup. Eight titles make him the second player with the most titles in the club’s history, only surpassed by Adelardo, who has ten trophies as a red and white player.
