Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has emerged victorious in a mock presidential poll conducted by The Movement Group (TMG) as part of efforts to promote opposition unity ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
According to the reported results, the Atiku/Rotimi Amaechi ticket came first with 73.6 per cent of the votes.
The Obi/Kwankwaso ticket of the New Democratic Congress (NDC) followed with 22.3 per cent.
The poll was reportedly conducted to gauge public opinion and encourage opposition parties to unite in their bid to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential election.
Sharing the results on Facebook, Abba Hikima, a leader of the movement, stressed that there is still a need for greater cooperation and unity among opposition parties ahead of the election.
The reported poll reflects the views of participants in the exercise and should not be taken as an official election result or a prediction of the outcome of the 2027 presidential election.
