Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed sadness over the death of celebrated Nollywood actor, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, describing his passing as a profound loss to Nigeria’s creative community.
Atiku, in a condolence message, said it was particularly painful that the actor’s death came only days after the public became aware of his battle with cancer.
He described Hassan as more than a gifted actor, noting that through his remarkable career, he brought laughter into countless homes, told stories that reflected Nigerian society and used his talent to entertain, educate and inspire social rebirth.
“His passing leaves a painful void in Nigeria’s creative community and in the hearts of the millions who cherished his work,” Atiku said.

The former Vice President extended his condolences to Hassan’s family, colleagues and admirers in Nigeria and across the world, praying for strength and comfort for those mourning the actor.
“May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, comfort his loved ones and grant him eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus. Ameen,” he prayed.
