Arsenal Stirs Up ‘Contact’ For Osimhen, As He Gets Set To Depart Napoli In The Summer

Reports say, Premier League side, Arsenal have made contact over possible move for Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen as they hope to sign him from the Italian club, Napoli.

The star player has established himself as one of the most fertile strikers in Europe after scoring 67 goals in 119 appearances across all tournaments.

The 25-year-old Eagles’ striker netted 26 goals in 32 Serie A matches last season to claim the Golden Boot and fire the Partenopei to their initial Scudetto title in three decades.

The Gunners have however, stepped up their pursuit of Osimhen, as Italian news outlet CalcioNapoli 24, via football.london, and reported that Mikel Arteta’s side has made contact concerning the potential luring of the Nigerian to the Emirates Stadium.

According to the report, Arsenal are ‘concretely’ interested in signing the striker, who is known to have possessed a £112m release clause in his new Napoli contract.

This development is coming days after Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis disclosed that Osimhen would depart the club in the summer.

He noted that Osimhen is likely to join Real Madrid, PSG or a top English club, with Arsenal and Chelsea believed to be the major contenders from the Premier League for his signature.
