Popular social critic, Justice Chidiebere, widely known as Justice Crack, appeared before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday for his bail hearing.
A touching moment unfolded outside the courtroom when his colleague, RandyPeter, brought his 11-month-old baby to him.
A video circulating online showed Justice Crack holding the child for the first time since his arrest on April 26.
He was arrested by the Nigerian Army on April 26. In a statement, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele, said the arrest followed concerns over his recent social media posts.
According to the Army, his online commentary highlighting soldiers’ complaints over feeding and welfare was deemed to have gone beyond advocacy.
The military further alleged that preliminary findings suggested his activities were capable of inciting disaffection and unrest within the ranks.
