Army Declares Ex-Jonathan Aide Jackson Ude Wanted for National Security Threats

—

Jackson Ude, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has been placed on the Nigerian Army’s most wanted list.

Ude is accused of plotting to overthrow the democratically elected government and inciting disorder within the country.

He recently caused public outrage by spreading false reports that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Abiodun Lagbaja, had died, and called for a military coup.

Ude is also accused of sponsoring insurgent groups like Boko Haram and bandits, contributing to unrest in Nigeria, and allegedly stealing gold from the Central Bank of Libya, which is under investigation by Libyan authorities.

Despite living in the U.S., Ude continues to use Twitter to make unverified claims against the Nigerian government and its officials.

Reports suggest that a governor from the northwest region, along with retired generals, is providing financial support to Ude, raising concerns about the extent of his influence.
