Army Arrests Two Suspected ISWAP Suppliers Heading to Terrorist Hideout

—

Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested two suspected logistics suppliers to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Molai, Jere Local Government Area of Borno State.

The suspects were arrested at about 3:30 p.m. on October 25, 2026, during a security check at the main entrance of the headquarters of the Army’s 18 Battalion.

According to security sources, preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects were allegedly heading to a terrorist transit point in Ajiri when they were intercepted by the troops.

Items recovered from them included a mobile phone, a bicycle and an undisclosed quantity of maize flour.

The suspects and the recovered items have been taken into military custody for further investigation and necessary action.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama, who reported the incident, said the arrest was part of ongoing military operations aimed at disrupting terrorist supply networks and preventing the movement of logistics to insurgent groups operating in the North-East.

The arrest comes amid sustained security operations by Nigerian troops to weaken the supply chains supporting insurgent activities in the region.
