Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested 12 suspected collaborators and logistics suppliers linked to Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during an intelligence-led operation in Damasak, Borno State.
The Nigerian Army disclosed this in a military operational report issued in Abuja on Monday, stating that the operation followed actionable intelligence obtained from the interrogation of a suspect earlier arrested at the Kadauri cattle market in Damasak.
According to the report, the suspect revealed meeting points and hideouts allegedly used by terrorist collaborators, logistics suppliers and informants operating within the area.
Acting on the intelligence, troops conducted coordinated cordon-and-search operations at several locations, leading to the arrest of the 12 suspects.
The army said items recovered during the operation included four mobile phones—three Tecno devices, one Itel phone and one Infinix smartphone, as well as ₦7,360 in cash.
It added that the suspects are undergoing preliminary processing before being transferred to the Joint Intelligence Fusion Centre in Maiduguri for further investigation and profiling.
The military described the operation as a significant breakthrough in efforts to dismantle terrorist support structures and disrupt the logistics networks sustaining insurgent activities in the North-East.
It reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining intelligence-led operations aimed at identifying and apprehending other collaborators linked to terrorist networks.
