Armed Bandits Terminate 18 Lives In Taraba

A total of eighteen persons have been killed in a separate attack by armed bandits. This incident occurred during a gun battle between hunters at Bali town and the armed bandit numbering at about 200.

It was reported that the bandit who were attempting to attack Bali town, the headquarters of Bali Local Government, were said to have been in possession of more sophisticated weapons than the local hunters.

Speaking to one of the National Dailies, a source in the town disclosed that 14 local hunters lost their lives at the scene of the attack leaving many others injured with one of the victims who died on the way to seek medical attention at a health facility.

According to the Chairman of the Taraba State Hunters Association, Adamu Dantala who revealed that 15 of his members have been killed during the unfortunate incident, he added that the armed terrorists equally ambushed the hunters near Dakka town in Bali LGA and killed three others bringing the total number of persons killed to 18.

Chieftain of the Kur Bali Chiefdom, Alh. Mahamud Abubakar confirmed that the armed bandits stormed his Chiefdom and attempted to invade Bali town but were tamed by the local hunters upon which 15 of them lost their lives in the process.

As of press time, efforts to contact the Police Spokesperson in Taraba State Usman Abdullahi to comment on the matter did not yield result.
