The Nigerian Navy has announced the commencement of its 2026 Batch 39 Basic Training School recruitment exercise, with online applications scheduled to open on October 2, 2026.
According to the recruitment information currently published on the Navy’s recruitment portal, the application window will remain open until October 31, 2026, while the nationwide aptitude test is scheduled for November 29, 2026. Basic training is expected to commence on December 12, 2026.
The exercise is open to eligible Nigerians seeking enlistment into the Nigerian Navy.

Applicants are required to be Nigerian citizens by birth and must possess a National Identification Number (NIN), in addition to meeting the prescribed educational, age, physical and medical requirements.
The Navy’s guidelines also stipulate minimum height requirements of 1.69 metres for male applicants and 1.65 metres for female applicants.
Applicants must be medically, physically and psychologically fit and must not have a previous criminal conviction.
The recruitment exercise will be conducted online through the Nigerian Navy’s official recruitment platform.
The announcement comes shortly after the Navy warned members of the public to disregard an earlier recruitment notice circulating on social media, describing it as unauthorised.
The service urged prospective applicants to rely only on information published through its official communication channels and warned against paying individuals or agents for recruitment.
