APC warns Tinubu: Getting 2% votes in FCT will be tough in 2027

President Tinubu in Trouble

The leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are upset.

They’re worried about President Bola Tinubu’s chances in the 2027 presidential election in the FCT.

They think he might only get 2% of the votes if things don’t change. They blame Minister Nyesom Wike for this.

“We call on Mr. President, who is the Governor-General to call the Minister to order, so that he can retrace his steps and start empowering the party or else, the party will struggle to get 2% for the President in the 2027 Presidential election and may loose the next Area Councils election if the situation remains this way.”

They say Wike, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is hurting the APC in the FCT. They say Wike isn’t treating the APC well and is making decisions that harm the party.

The APC leaders held a press conference in Abuja to talk about their concerns. They are upset because they feel like Wike is ignoring them. They’ve tried to talk to him, but he won’t listen.

They also don’t like the appointments Wike has been making. They say these appointments don’t include enough APC members.

Wike was appointed as the FCT minister by President Tinubu, who leads the APC. But now, the APC leaders feel like Wike is working against them.

They want President Tinubu to tell Wike to change his ways and support the APC. Otherwise, they worry that the APC will do poorly in the next elections.

“As we all know, the President is the Governor-General of the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT), but delegates his powers to a Minister, and today Barr. Nyesom Wike is standing in for the President as Hon. Minister of the FCT.

The APC leaders say Wike’s actions are hurting the party’s chances of winning elections in the FCT.

They say Wike brings in people from outside the FCT to work for the government. These people don’t know or care about the FCT, so they don’t help the APC during elections.

Instead, they leave after their work is done, leaving the APC without support. This will make it hard for the APC to win elections in the FCT.
