APC Stalwart Criticises Nomination of Kwankwaso’s Son as Commissioner

A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Alhassan Yaryasa, has condemned the governor’s decision to appoint Kwankwaso’s son, labeling it as Nepotism.

Yaryasa believes that there are other individuals who contributed to Governor Yusuf’s victory and could have been more deserving of the commissioner position.

Highlighting Governor Yusuf’s previous criticism of similar actions by the former governor, Yaryasa expressed concerns about the potential challenges in managing Mustapha Rabiu-Kwankwaso due to his familial connection to Senator Kwankwaso.

Yaryasa apprehensively noted that this relationship might hinder the governor’s ability to effectively oversee or take disciplinary action against Mustapha if he engages in misconduct.

The appointment of Mustapha Kwankwaso is a blatant display of nepotism by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

“This isn’t the first instance of nepotism as he previously appointed a relative to a position.

“Despite Senator Kwankwaso being his mentor, he should prioritize merit over personal connections. This reeks of selfishness.”  Yaryasa said.

However, Kano State Governor’s media aide, Sanusi Tofa, defended the nomination of Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, stating There is absolutely nothing wrong with Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso’s nomination as a commissioner. Mustapha and the three others are all eminently qualified to serve as cabinet members”

“They’re Nigerians and possess the required qualifications and experience to serve as commissioners and represent the youth.”

“All of them are below the age of 40, this is part of His Excellency’s social inclusion policy,” Tofa said.
