APC Knocks Gov, Adeleke Over Renovation of Govt House With N1b Amid Worsening Hardship

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has been heavily criticized by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), for refurbishing Government House with alleged N1billion.

It would be recalled that Governor Adeleke had on Saturday 16 March 2024 opened the newly-rehabilitated Government House in Osogbo with top officials and dignitaries joining him to inspect the facilities.

In a statement issued by the spokesperson to the governor, Olawale Rasheed, noted that “the rehabilitation covers the main house, the completion of an abandoned multi-bedroom guest house, remodeling of many of the structures, refixing of many derelict facilities and facelift of the entire Government House.”

In a precipitate reaction, through the APC Chairman in the state, Kola Olabisi, yesterday described the inauguration as a misplaced priority.

“It is a shame that Governor Adeleke could be involved in flaunting the Government House rehabilitated with N1billion in this austere period and when Osun State has been declared the corporate headquarters of poverty in Yorubaland.” He added.
