APC Chieftain Sounds Unity Alarm Ahead of Osun Poll

As preparations intensify for the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has appealed to party members to set aside their differences and work together to secure victory at the polls.

Speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye warned that internal divisions, reckless comments, provocative statements and anti-party activities could weaken the party’s chances in the August 15 governorship contest.

He stressed that cohesion within the APC remains the key ingredient for electoral success, urging party leaders and elders to move swiftly in resolving grievances and discontent among members.

According to him, the party stands a strong chance of reclaiming power in the state if lingering internal disputes are addressed and members unite behind a common objective.

Oyintiloye maintained that winning the election is a priority for the APC and insisted that any issue capable of jeopardising that goal must be confronted without delay.

He cautioned that approaching the election as a fractured political force would be a grave error, noting that collective purpose and solidarity are indispensable in any successful political campaign.

“The governorship election is fast approaching, and there is an urgent need for us to come together as one big family.

“There is no doubt that some members may be aggrieved for one reason or another, but such grievances should be addressed promptly to consolidate our impending victory.

“No divided house can win a battle. That is why I am appealing to all members to resolve their differences. The APC is cruising to victory,” he said.

The APC stalwart also described the party’s governorship candidate, Alhaji Bola Oyebamiji, as a marketable candidate with the credentials and appeal needed to emerge victorious, urging members to rally behind his candidacy.

He expressed optimism that with the support of influential party leaders and stakeholders, including Chief Bisi Akande, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Sen. Ajibola Basiru, APC National Secretary, and Sen. Iyiola Omisore, the state would witness a return to progressive leadership after the election.

Oyintiloye further stated that public sentiment was tilting in favour of the APC, expressing confidence that voters were eager to return the party to government in Osun State.
