Anthony Joshua Relocates to Dubai, Shifts Residence Away From UK

—

British Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua has confirmed plans to relocate from the United Kingdom to Dubai, marking a major personal and business shift for the former heavyweight world champion.

The decision became public after official filings linked to Joshua’s business interests revealed that the 36-year-old boxer has updated his residential status to the United Arab Emirates. The documents relate to his business ventures, including Sparta Promotions and 258 Investments, which form part of his estimated £150 million business portfolio.

Joshua, who was born in Watford to Nigerian parents and rose to global fame after winning gold at the 2012 London Olympics, has frequently travelled to Dubai over the years for training, business engagements, and holidays.

The News Chronicle understands that the move places Joshua among a growing number of high-profile British figures choosing to base themselves abroad, with Dubai remaining a popular destination due to its world-class sporting facilities, business environment, and tax advantages.

The relocation comes during a challenging period for the boxer following the loss of two close associates in a road accident in Nigeria last year. Since then, Joshua has been focused on recovery and training while sharing updates about his rehabilitation.

Dubai has increasingly become a hub for athletes and entrepreneurs seeking access to global opportunities, and Joshua’s relocation highlights the city’s growing appeal within the international sports and business community.
