Another Soludo’s Appointee Resigns, Amid Rumours of Policy Differences

The Anambra State Commissioner for Finance, Mr Ifeatu Onejeme has tendered his resignation to Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, making him the second appointee of the governor to throw in the towel.

Earlier this year, Richard Madiebo, the then Managing Director of the State Internal Revenue Service, AIRS, resigned from the position.

Onejeme was appointed Commissioner for Finance by Governor Soludo at the beginning of the administration to help the new government settle in.

Mr Ifeatu Onejeme has also previously served as Commissioner during the Obiano’s administration.

The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Soludo, Christian Aburime  had on Thursday confirmed the resignation of Onejeme, after nine years of service to the state.

Aburime also said the Governor has also accepted the resignation.

He said while accepting Onejeme’s resignation, Governor Soludo commended his meritorious service to the government and the people of Anambra State

According to Aburime, the governor had appreciated Onejeme for working diligently to facilitate a seamless transition from the previous administration of Chief Willie Obiano, to his administration.

The governor had while noting the state will miss his services, said he appreciates his personal and family circumstances that warranted the resignation, wishing him success in his future endeavours and expressed hope that he will continue to avail his services in the development of Anambra/Nigeria in other spheres.

The governor also directed that the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake oversees the Ministry of Finance until a substantive Commissioner is nominated to take over the Ministry.
