Another FCT Resident Narrowly Escapes Death From Armed Bandits, Amidst FG’s Renewed Measures

A resident of the FCT who escaped death after sustaining bullet wound from an attacked by suspected kidnappers at his estate in Lugbe, Abuja on Wednesday, January 17 2024, has taken to social media to share his story. 

 

In a photo, the man was seen carrying bloodstained thigh.

 

While calling on Nigerians to exercise extra vigilant, the victim pleaded with individuals to desist from late-night movement stating that the terrorist are all over the federal capital territory.

 He was quoted as saying;

‘’Dear Residents, This event happened yesterday night around 10.30pm.

“I made a miraculous escape from Kidnappers yesterday with a bullet wound just outside my estate at Lugbe en route Penthouse and Elsalem estate around 10:00 P.m.

 

Yesterday! I was blocked by their car on my lane but courageously reversed, and then drove through them while being shot at. Bullet penetrated the door behind the driver’s and got me on my left bum”.

Let’s exercise extra caution and avoid late-night movement please! These deadly guys are all over the city!

May God continue to protect us. Amen!”

 

This is coming barely two days after President Bola Tinubu met with service chiefs and other top officials of security agencies at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday 16 January 2024 to discuss growing concerns of insecurity in the nation.

 

Present at the meeting are the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa; Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-General Taoreed Lagbaja; Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar; and Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla.

 

Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has convened a crucial meeting with the Force Management Team and Tactical Squads on Monday to address the rising concerns surrounding insecurity in the country.

 

In the same vain, the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has equally convened a meeting with top government functionaries in the FCT in a bid to respond to the rising security concerns in the nation’s capital. Wike who vowed to flush out criminals, assured of a safer FCT.
