“Joy,” which was released on August 30, 2024, marks the second collaboration between Kidjo and Davido. The duo first teamed up on the hit track “Na Money” in 2023. This latest song combines Kidjo’s iconic Afrobeat sound with Davido’s energetic Afropop style, gaining massive popularity on streaming platforms.
In her post, Kidjo thanked the artists and collaborators who contributed to the success of the two songs submitted for Grammy consideration.
Several other Nigerian artists have also entered their projects for the 2025 Grammys, including Tems, Ayra Starr, Rema, Asake, and Yemi Alade. Asake submitted his song “MMS” with Wizkid, along with his album Lungu Boy for Album of the Year. Meanwhile, Tems submitted Born in the Wild and Love Me, Jeje.
