Anambra Woman Whose Husband Was Murdered by Co-Tenant Seeks Expedited Action Towards Justice

A widow living at Nkpikpa Layout, Ogbaru Council Area of Anambra State, Mrs. Blessing Kingsley, has called on the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to carry out expedited and thorough investigations into the death of her husband, Kingsley Ogbonna, who she alleged was murdered.

According to the widow, her husband was hit by a co-tenant, by name Friday Francis, when the duo was engaged in a heated verbal exchange during a meeting of tenants, who live in a building situated at No 2 Showlight Street, Nkpikpa, Ogbaru.

It was gathered that the deceased was taken to the hospital for treatment, but he was certified and pronounced dead at Bex hospital, Owerri road, Obosi, after the medical personnel at Emmanuel hospital, Nkpikpa, Ogbaru, had failed to revive him.

The homicidal act was reported and registered at the Okpoko police station.

Operatives of the force had swung into action and apprehended Friday Francis, who allegedly caused the death of Kingsley Ogbonna.

The matter was later taken to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Awka for further investigation, which will lead to the arraignment of the alleged killer.

In a chat with The News Chronicle correspondent, the widow, Mrs. Kingsley, called on the NPF to expedite an investigation into the death of her husband to unearth the truth about it in order that the cause of justice will be served.

The young widow, who has two sets of twins, four children, says she has become traumatized by the unexpected death of her husband.

“My world has turned upside down. I cannot stop crying.

“I don’t know who will help me. In fact, I am helpless.

“I still watch the door to our home and expect it to swing open so that my husband will walk in,” Mrs. Kingsley sobbed.
