Sharon also said that she was still dealing with her husband’s demise only to find out that her mother has also died same day she lost her husband.

According to her, “the worst of the situation, was that just days before they took my children, they consistently told my kids that, I was responsible for their father’s death and broke Into my room after my husband’s funeral to cart away with all the money sympathizers gave to me.

“When I tried to reach my children, they were avoiding me because of the falsehood they spread against my. Imagine the trauma they put me through.

“I was just with my husband on the fateful day when he complained of severe pains and later collapsed. I was calling one of the brothers and he was asking me if he was dead. I kept crying and asking for their help until he died.

Speaking on the development, Madam Commissioner Obinabo regretted that the widow was being persecuted with the support of her mother and sister in law, saying it is worrisome that women continue to be their own problems.

“It is still the same story over and over, where women are so mean and wicked to their fellow women.

“Why on earth would the mother-in-law and sister-in-law, who ought to understand what their fellow woman is going through, now be the reason why she would be shedding midnight tears?

“We must begin to love ourselves as women and support ourselves too. Enough of this women being mean and wicked to fellow women,” she said

Obinabo warned that the state government will not tolerate any unwholesome practice against widows in the state and will ensure that any such action is met with the law.
