The National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh, has said that the gubernatorial election in Anambra State was free and fair.
The National Chairman dismissed allegations that the election was rigged in favour of APGA’s candidate with support from INEC and security agencies.
The Party’s Chairman expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election, adding that the security agencies were impeccable and aided the successful climax of the election. He commended the security agencies, especially the Police and the Army, noting that there was no single violence and loss of lives during the election.
He also applauded the Police for tracking down impostors and hoodlums who were imported from Osun State via Imo State.
He passed a vote of confidence on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He said INEC lived up to expectation and delivered a free, fair and credible election in the state.
He remarked that those faulting INEC’s effort in the election and the commitment of the security agencies were only doing so because INEC and the security agents did not create room for them to rig the election and manipulate the outcome.
