Anambra Police to Deploy 60 Officers to Secure JAMB Exam Centres

The Anambra State Police Command plans to deploy 60 Safe School Operatives across designated centres for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations in the state.

The policemen will monitor the examinations scheduled to be held from 15 to 26 April 2026, with the aim of ensuring safety, security, and orderliness throughout the exercise.

This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga.

According to Ikenga, the deployment, coordinated from operational bases located in the state’s eight Police Area Commands, is being overseen by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, ACP Harrison Oruruo.

He explained that the initiative forms part of the Command’s proactive measures under the Safe School Initiative, aimed at providing a secure environment for candidates, invigilators, and examination officials, while also preventing any form of malpractice, disruption, or security breach.

Ikenga further stated that the Command reassures the public of its continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

“The command urges candidates and other stakeholders to remain law-abiding and to cooperate fully with security personnel deployed for the exercise,” Ikenga said.
