Anambra NSCDC Commandant Introduces Awards for Personnel, Honours Seven in Maiden Edition

Officers and men of the Anambra State command of the Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC have been urged to show dedication to their duties and shun acts that can mar the image of the corps.
The State NSCDC Commandant, made the call during the maiden edition of the Command’s Wage award, which he established, to honor some select personnel of the command for their exceptional work, outstanding professionalism, diligence, and upholding the ethics of law enforcement.
Seven personnel of the command were selected for the January 2024 award comprising both senior and junior staff.
They included Deputy Commandant Dennis Reuben, HOD Investigation & Intelligence; Deputy Commandant Alada Yakubu, HOD Operations Department, and Deputy Commandant Prominence Ukaobi, Head of Anti-fraud Unit, for the senior category.
The junior category honorees were Inspector of Corps, Nwachukwu Michael, Corps Assistant II( CA II) Nwabueze Chinedu, CA III, Edwin Onyebuchi, and CA III Uzoegbunam Oluchukwu.
Presenting the awards, the Anambra NSCDC boss said it was part of his strategy towards achieving the vision of the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Audi, in repositioning the Corps as a key stakeholder in the internal security of the nation with a unique mandate to protect critical assets and public infrastructure.
According to him, the establishment of the monthly award was also part of his initiative to boost personnel morale in furtherance of their public duty.
“As a way of motivating and encouraging officers and men, I have decided to establish this monthly wage award.
“This is a way to reward some of us, who have displayed exemplary performance while discharging their duties
“The objective is to emphasize the importance of commitment to duty, ability to respond appropriately to emergencies, and professional excellence.
“We will sustain this award so that we will continue to have personnel who are committed to their duties,” he said.
The NSCDC helmsman urged personnel to give their best and be selfless, sacrificial, and humane in their conduct and dealings to guarantee a positive appraisal to earn the award.
He congratulated the awardees for scaling through the criteria used in the selection, describing their citations as a source of pride worthy of commendation and emulation, especially by other officers.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the overall best-performing officer, Deputy Commandant Dennis Reuben,  lauded the State Commandant for establishing the award.
He said the awards will spur them to remain steadfast in doing their best for the Corps, the state, and the nation at large.
“I do not take this award for granted and I dedicate it to other personnel of the command who are doing their best in the delivery of their duties.
“This will no doubt, encourage us to continue to give in our best in the service of our fatherland,” he assured.
