Anambra NSCDC Boss Oversees Personnel Deployment for Asset Protection

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command in its quest to protect critical national assets has reiterated its commitment to deploy  all proactive measures to holistically address and mitigate vandalization

Maku Olatunde, the State NSCDC Commandant stated this on Monday when he paid an on-the-spot assessment visit to all the financial institutions in Awka.

The visit was to assess the performance of personnel deployed to protect and build the confidence of the public in all financial institutions, markets, and public avenues in and around Awka.

The State NSCDC Command helmsman stated that his visit was part of a deliberate proactive approach to strengthen the security of public infrastructure against wanton vandalism by some undesirable elements.

“The tour has afforded me the opportunity to access the level of preparedness of personnel to subdue any unforeseen circumstances, review the existing strategies, and reinforce the locations with more operational facilities that can safeguard both the infrastructures and lawful citizens.

“The operation encompasses extensive detailed overt and covert surveillance operations, intelligence-driven non-vehicular patrols, motorized patrol and pin down of personnel amongst others,” he noted.

Maku also used the opportunity to interact with bank officials and customers on the need to comply with the state government’s directive to resume economic activities on Mondays.

The State Commandant was accompanied on the tour by Deputy Commandant; Joseph Kazzah, Head of Critical National Assets Protection Department, Assistant Commandant; Samuel Onyeka, AC OPS, Assistant Commandant; Onyebuchi Onwuteaka, AC OPS Zone K, Assistant Commandant; Chinenye Chinweze, Head of Anti- Vandalism Squad among others.
