The national award, presented at a ceremony in Lagos, celebrates individuals and organisations driving civic engagement and social development across Nigeria.
Dr. Soludo emerged ahead of fellow finalists, health and gender rights advocate Ramatu Ada Ochekliye and public health and social impact professional Sidney Sampson, after a selection process that evaluated nominees based on innovation, impact, sustainability, inclusion, leadership and measurable community outcomes.
The recognition highlights the impact of her Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, which has focused on promoting preventive healthcare, healthy lifestyles and community wellness across Anambra State.
Since becoming First Lady, she has spearheaded several health-focused interventions, including statewide fitness campaigns, maternal and child health advocacy, nutrition education, environmental sanitation drives, the Healthy Living Pad Bank for schoolgirls, free seed distribution to households and the Nonye’s Healthy Living Pap Initiative aimed at tackling childhood malnutrition.

The initiatives have benefited thousands of residents while promoting prevention as a key strategy for improving public health.
Now in its third edition, the BudgIT Active Citizens Awards recognises individuals and organisations whose work advances accountability, democratic values and sustainable development through advocacy, innovation, research, community service and citizen engagement.
