Controversial chairman of Capital Oil, Ifeanyi Uba, has finally pitched his tents with the Labour Party, with a view to realizing his long-held ambition of governing Anambra State. The oil magnate registered at Obiokpuno, Otolo Nnewi ward of the Party where he was also issued an LP membership card.
Uba said he decided to join the LP after extensive consultations with stakeholders that included churches, family members and elders.
“ I have made consultations before deciding to join Labour Party. After the consultations, I came to the conclusion that the only party that has human beings as their symbols was only LP while others were represented by inanimate objects”, Uba said at the state secretariat of the party. In what was supposed to be a dig at APGA, the ruling party in the state, Uba said members of his Campaign organization would embark on 14-days of prayer to ask God for forgiveness for allowing a party with a cock as its symbol to rule the state.
