Allwell Ademola’s Brother Criticises Iyabo Ojo, Lateef Adedimeji Over Alleged Neglect

The death of Nigerian actress and film producer Allwell Ademola stirred accusations by her brother against several prominent actors including Iyabo Ojo, Lateef Adedimeji amongst othets.

Allwell Ademola died on Saturday, December 27, 2025. Her death occurred less than 24 hours after she shared a video on social media, in which she sang a song expressing hope and survival. As of the time of reporting, the cause of death has not been officially disclosed, and her family has not released further medical or personal details.

Following confirmation of her passing, several Nollywood actors, including Iyabo Ojo and Lateef Adedimeji, took to social media to express shock and offer condolence messages. Their posts described Ademola as a colleague and friend and extended sympathies to her family.

However, the mood shifted after Ademola’s brother released a video message that went viral on Sunday, December 28, 2025, in which he openly criticised some of the actors who posted tributes.

In the video, he accused them of failing to support his sister during her lifetime and questioned the sincerity of their public mourning.

“You guys should stop posting my sister. You don’t know her age. She’s not 43,” he said, disputing information circulating online. “You never honoured her when she was alive.”

He further alleged that although many actors worked closely with Ademola earlier in their careers, they later excluded her from major cinema projects and did not promote her films.

“Everybody dey post ‘Allwell rest in peace.’ How many of you supported my sister when she was alive?” he said. “Na only in her own movies I dey see her.”

He specifically mentioned Iyabo Ojo, Lateef Adedimeji, and other A-list actors, claiming that Ademola had supported them when they were still building their careers and hosted film productions at their family home.

“All of una was coming to our house to film,” he said. “Now you don’t use her in your cinema movies, but you are quick to post her when she died.”

The family has not announced burial arrangements, and there has been no official statement addressing the cause of death.

Allwell Ademola was known for her work as an actress and independent producer.
