Alleged Coup: We Agreed to Disconnect Villa Electricity -Suspect Reveals in Court

A suspected coup plotter, Zekeri Umoru, has told a Federal High Court in Abuja that plans were made to cut electricity at the Presidential Villa to facilitate an alleged coup operation.
Umoru, one of the defendants facing trial over the alleged coup attempt, made the revelation in a video confession presented before the court.
According to the footage played in court, Umoru said discussions were held during their final meeting on how to disrupt power supply at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to make the operation easier.
The suspect, who works with construction giant Julius Berger in the electrical maintenance unit of the Villa, reportedly admitted that the plan involved switching off electricity at the seat of government as part of the alleged strategy.
The development emerged during proceedings at the Federal High Court in Abuja as authorities continue the prosecution of individuals accused of involvement in the alleged coup plot.
