and hunters of fauna, and friendly catchers of fish for years.
Their intimate and bold bond with the land defines their art,
diet, creed, and architecture. This relation carries their culture.
If the San people are believed to be the first natives of Southern
Africa, and with their rock paintings found in places like the Matobo
Hills in Zimbabwe, then the Aboriginal people –with their Aboriginal
rock paintings, and the didgeridoo: the world’s oldest wind instrument –
are frequently the unsung but original inhabitants of Australia. Music or tune
is communication, connection, community, identity, energy, heartbeat and sense.
It’s fun. Land is life. The settler intrusion of the Europeans into their space and sphere
doused, disturbed and diseased their way of life: their land, rhythm, harmony and happiness.
