Akwa Ibom-based club, Akwa United head coach, Osho Fatai has stepped down from his role as the head manager of the first team. The development came after the club recorded one of its poorest starts to the season.
After stepping down as the head coach of Akwa United Football Club, Uyo, Osho Fatai appreciated the club’s Chairman Elder Paul Bassey for the opportunity he was given:
“Sir, I can’t thank you enough for my time at Akwa United FC. You’re a rare breed that deserves all happiness and success. We gave it our all, but it was not to be. This temporary setback will be followed by unimaginable success. I will forever appreciate you for who you are. A nice man. God bless you and the Akwa United FC family abundantly”.
Fatai was unveiled as the club’s head coach in August ahead of the new season. Since the start of the season, the Promise Keepers have managed only 3 wins after 14 league games — sitting in the 17th spot with 13 points.
