Akpabio backs Super Eagles to secure victory in AFCON

—

The Nigerian Federal Government has expressed its commitment to supporting the Super Eagles in their quest to win the 2024 African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, leading a high-profile delegation, conveyed this assurance during a Zoom address from Cote d’Ivoire.

Akpabio emphasized the government’s dedication to ensuring the success of the Nigerian football team in the ongoing competition.

Speaking about the delegation’s presence at the quarterfinal match against Angola’s Palancas Negras, Akpabio highlighted the unifying power of sports and its positive impact on youth development.

He shared his excitement at the stadium when the Super Eagles scored, describing the jubilation among Nigerian supporters and those who hold affection for the country.

Akpabio reminisced about his tenure as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, where he championed youth development by providing the region with the best stadium in West Africa.

He pledged, under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, to replicate such initiatives across the entire nation.

Stressing the government’s youth-friendly stance, Akpabio expressed determination to create conducive environments for Nigerian youth to realize their potential, steering them away from negative influences.

Akpabio extended congratulations to all Nigerians for the Super Eagles’ victory and reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering opportunities for the country’s youth, aiming to curtail involvement in harmful activities.
