Air Force School Student Dies After Punishment

A student of Air Force Comprehensive School in Kaduna, Blaise Felix Aliyu, has died at the hands of two of his senior colleagues.
Aliyu, 15 years old, was an orphan, having lost his parents in 2013, he is survived by his twin brother, who also attends the same military boarding school located in Mando, Kaduna.
Reports state that two senior students in SS3 called Aliyu to their room under the guise of punishing him.
However, what was supposed to be a disciplinary measure turned fatal, resulting in Aliyu’s death. His body has since been placed in the mortuary.
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has expressed deep sorrow over the incident. Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the spokesperson for the NAF, released a statement on Saturday addressing the tragedy.
“The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, and indeed the entire NAF family are deeply saddened by the painful and unfortunate incident of the untimely death of one of our students at Air Force Secondary School, Kaduna, on June 19, 2024,” Gabkwet stated.
He emphasized that a comprehensive investigation is underway to uncover the details surrounding Aliyu’s death.
“To avoid all sorts of speculations, a thorough investigation is currently ongoing to unravel how, why, and what actually led to the death of the victim. Rest assured that this matter is receiving the utmost urgency it deserves, and we won’t rest until it is unravelled,” the statement read.
