Air Force Bombards Sambisa Hideouts, Kills Several Insurgents

—

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says its Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI has carried out precision airstrikes in the Yuwe axis of Sambisa Forest, eliminating several terrorists and destroying fortified structures.

In a statement issued Tuesday in Abuja, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the operation was based on credible intelligence supported by surveillance, confirming the presence of active terrorist elements in the area.

According to him, NAF air assets deployed precision-guided munitions, successfully destroying terrorist bunkers and logistics facilities, while neutralising multiple fighters. A follow-up battle damage assessment confirmed the impact of the strikes.

Ejodame noted that sustained air operations in the North-East continue to weaken terrorist networks, forcing them into disarray and reactive movements under mounting pressure.

He also quoted the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, as reaffirming the force’s commitment to relentless, intelligence-led operations aimed at completely eliminating terrorist threats.

Aneke stressed that the NAF remains dedicated to protecting national security while ensuring strict adherence to rules of engagement and minimising civilian casualties.
