Ahmed Musa, Super Eagles Captain, addresses Plateau crisis, urges for peace

Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, recently expressed his deep concern about the escalating violence in Plateau State.

Taking to his X handle (formerly Twitter), Musa, who is currently representing Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, urged everyone to unite for peace in Plateau.

In a heartfelt message, Musa emphasized the need for the Plateau community and all Nigerians to come together during these trying times.

He lamented the excessive fights and killings, stressing that despite religious differences, everyone is part of one big family.

Musa appealed to leaders, urging them to prioritize the safety of the people and work towards restoring the peace that Plateau State was once known for.

He nostalgically recalled the state’s past reputation as the “Home of Peace and Tourism” and expressed the collective desire to regain that status.

“Our state is hurting, and we need to come together. The fights, the killings– it’s too much. We are all one big family, no matter our religion. Most families in Plateau have both Christians and Muslims. We should be celebrating our differences, not fighting because of them.

In his message, Musa encouraged unity among Christians and Muslims, highlighting that many families in Plateau encompass both faiths.

He emphasized the importance of celebrating differences rather than engaging in conflict because of them.

The Super Eagles striker called on citizens to stand together, irrespective of their religious backgrounds.

His plea included a call for collective action through holding hands, praying, and actively seeking peace.

Musa expressed confidence that with joint efforts, the community can overcome the challenges and restore Plateau to its former state of tranquility.
