The African Export Import Bank and Africa Trading and Distribution Company have signed a $500 million Global Credit Facility to strengthen commodity trade and distribution across Africa and international markets.
The News Chronicle reports that the facility will provide ATDC with additional financing to purchase and aggregate African commodities while supporting transportation, warehousing, logistics and distribution.
In addition to the funding, the deal is also expected to boost ATDC’s work on developing stronger trade corridors and ensuring access to reliable sourcing networks in African markets.

ATDC Chief Executive Officer Stewart Makura said the partnership will assist in strengthening supply chains, promoting value addition and boosting intra African trade.
The agreement comes as trade between African countries grows. Afreximbank data showed intra African trade increased by 5.47% to $213.8 billion in 2025 from $202.7 billion in 2024.
The bank also reported a 30% increase in net income to $534.7 million in the first half of 2026, while its total assets and contingencies rose to $52.3 billion.
